War is...
I was reading the Freakonomics NYTimes blog and I came across this article detailing what 12 West Point cadets had to say about what war is in a line or two. Well it seems fairly obvious to me what war is:
War is the tragic consequence of the prisoner's dilemma.
To be avoided if at all possible, but, logically, unavoidable.
(You could probably spin out a long article applying Tit for Tat to the problems of the world. Too bad it would be bunk.)
